Your child will need a backpack, a lunch/snack bag, and a water bottle. The backpack should be big enough to carry the lunch/snack bag, a home/school folder, and a library book or two. Extra space is helpful in the winter when extra clothes are needed for recess.

BE SURE TO LABEL EVERYTHING!

The school and PTO will provide all the supplies your child will need for their classroom. If anything else is required, your teacher will communicate this to you directly.

Breakfast and lunch are provided FREE to all students.

Allergies - Teachers will advise you if there is a student with a life threatening allergy in the class/grade. These allergens may not be allowed into the classroom or lunch room.

Breakfast can be picked up at the cafeteria before school.

Lunch - When students arrive in their classroom in the morning, they can choose to either order school lunch or select that they have brought lunch from home. Please ensure that your child knows which option they are having each day as they will not be able to change their mind at lunch time (the Foodservice department makes lunches to based on the morning order information and will not have extras). Snacks - Please pack snacks for your child at home. Children will have one or two snack times per day depending on the grade/class.

Water - All kids should bring a labeled water bottle with them. There are bottle refilling stations available throughout the school.

Specials are gym, music, library, and art classes. Typically, children will have one special class per day. You will receive a schedule of specials from your child’s teacher.

Each class has one or two room parents who help in a number of ways. They may gather funds for extra crafts, class celebrations, teacher gifts, etc. As an added benefit, room parents often get the right of first refusal to come into the classroom on special days.

Room parents also assist the PTO by helping us to connect with families and teachers directly.

There are several ways to become a room parent. Some teachers provide a sign up sheet on the night of the Open House while others may send out a request via email. If you’re interest in becoming a room parent, please contact your child’s teacher at your earliest convenience.
