4th Grade Activities

The 4th Grade Planning Committee works to create a fun series of social/fundraising events for the 4th graders, and sometimes their families, throughout the year. The funds raised, along with a generous contribution from the PTO, help to cover the cost of the End of Year events and activities.

ACTIVITIES

Below is a checklist of all of the current 4th Grade Activities and the things you need to do to ensure that you are able to participate in all the fun we have planned for this year. Please be sure to complete all of the required forms/tasks as soon as possible. Thanks!

JOIN THE 4TH GRADE PARENTS CLASS OF 2029 GOOGLE GROUP

This is our main form of communication with 4th Grade parents. If you are not already receiving email updates from the 4th Grade committee, you need to go to the 4th Grade Parents Class of 2029 Google Group and "Ask to join group" button.

SUBMIT 4TH GRADE PARTICIPATION FORM FOR EACH STUDENT (required)

The 4th Grade Participation form asks for your permission to use pictures of your student in the yearbook and for your student's t-shirt size (and more). If you do not complete this form, we are unable to include your student in the yearbook and we cannot guarantee that they will receive a t-shirt in the correct size. If you are not sure whether you filled out the form yet, go here and you can see your student's status. The deadline for completing this form is March 5, 2021.

SEND US YEARBOOK PICTURES FOR YOUR STUDENT (required)

The yearbook is a keepsake that each student will receive to remind them of all the good times they had at Ben-Hem. It includes students' 4th grade school pictures (headshots), baby pictures (to see how they've grown), candids of students participating in school activities over the years, and more. The success of the yearbook relies on the pictures that YOU, 4th Grade parents, send us. Please take some time to visit the Yearbook page and send us whatever pictures you have. At the very least, we need a baby picture from every student. The FINAL deadline for submitting pictures for the yearbook is March 5, 2021.

CONTRIBUTE TO OUR 4TH GRADE CLASS FUND (strongly encouraged)

As a class, we need to raise approximately $8,700 to support all of the end of year activities and keepsakes. In past years, we have held in-person events with admission fees that support the budget. Due to the pandemic, we are unable to do that this year. Instead we are asking 4th Grade families to make a direct contribution to our 4th Grade Class Fund. The recommended donation is $75 per student, but if you are able, we recommend contributing a little extra to help out families who are unable to give the full amount. The deadline for contributions is March 5, 2021.

Things will be a little different this year, but we are determined to still make our 4th graders' final months at Ben-Hem special. We will be organizing virtual and physical events/activities (following all safety guidelines) to allow students to see their classmates and share fun experiences that are designed just for them. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR NEW INFORMATION, COMING SOON...

There are several sub-committees that are working to plan all kinds of things for our 4th graders. Soon we will have information on how students can get involved in the class Service Projects, help with the Class Gift, when they will receive their Class T-Shirts, and more. As the year progresses, we will keep you informed through updates on this site as well as emails send to the 4th Grade Parents Class of 2029 email list.
